On Thursday, December 1st, the Kiwanis Club of St. Joseph met on the campus of Missouri Western State University, inviting local business leaders to join us for a T.A.K.E. Defense Luncheon with speaker Mr. Roger Kemp.
We are grateful to partner with The Ali Kemp Foundation and the T.A.K.E. Defense Program to offer a free self-defense class to girls and women in our community. Through his moving presentation, Mr. Kemp described the tragic events that led to the establishment of the The Ali Kemp Foundation, when his daughter, Ali, lost her life at the hands of an attacker. Since her death, Mr. Kemp has made it his life's purpose to educate and train all women to protect themselves, in hopes of preventing similar tragedies in the future.
With help from local buisnesses, the Kiwanis Club will continue to offer this effective and meaningful program. Registration for the April 8th T.A.K.E. Defense Program is available on our website at stjoemokiwanis.org/TAKE . Please join us in supporting the Ali Kemp Foundation through the promotion of safety and wellness in our community.
If you or your business would like to be a sponsor of the upcoming Kiwanis T.A.K.E. Defense Training, please contact us by emailing info@stjoemokiwanis.org .
